As noted on the bag, QPR is specifically designed to remain somewhat pliable after application. This allows the product to continue to fill small voids and crevices, through continued compaction. Totally filling these voids prevents water (and in the winter – ice) from getting into the repaired area, and ultimately causing your patch to fail. This engineering design is why QPR is the overwhelming choice of Highway Departments and DOT’s across North America. Remember, you can, and should begin to drive over your patch immediately, so while it may seem like it has not ‘set up’, it is performing just as it was designed to. Should you require a faster set-up time, for whatever reason, a light sprinkling of mortar dust, or Portland cement, will help to speed the curing process.
